Our Community

Our business is a family business (several families in fact), and all local to the Shire, so our community is very important to us.

We have been proud to support the following local community initiatives:

Sex & The City 2 Charity Movie Night - Sylvanvale Foundation

On Wednesday 23 June, 2010 filmgoers enjoyed watching Sex and the City 2 and together raised almost $3,000 for Sylvanvale. The movie night proved popular among women from the Sutherland Shire and the event was a sell-out.

While the film itself has received mixed reviews, the movie night was a major hit with the guests - especially the raffle prize winners who, before the film started, won bottles of bubbly, day spa vouchers and one lucky lady picked up a limited edition David Newton cooler bag filled with goodies.

David Newton presented Sylvanvale CEO Pauline Stanley with a cheque for $2,000 before adding that the takings for the night exceeded expectations. With movie ticket and raffle ticket sales combined, the final fundraising tally reached $2,800.

Thanks to everyone who supported the event .

Caringbah Public School Spring Carnival

We proudly supported and sponsored Caringbah Public School Spring Carnival which was held in late November 2009. It was an exciting day for all who attended with Rides, Face painting, Petting Zoo, Show Bags and much more.

"Red Nose Day" - 2009

A big thank you to everyone who helped us raise funds for Red Nose Day during June. We all enjoyed getting silly for this serious cause and the simple things we did, like running a competition on the birth weight of a new baby, casual days, guessing how many red lollies in the jar and getting our own kids involved in selling Red Nose products, were great fun.

Now in its 22nd year, Red Nose Day is credited with significantly reducing the incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and we are proud to have participated. With almost no government funding, Red Nose Day provides critical funding for a 24-hour bereavement support line, community education to reduce incidents of stillbirth and fatal sleeping accidents, and research on the causes of infant death and the risk factors for unexplained stillbirth.

5 buses escorted the 270 "Bay Babes" into the Domain for the event. It was a wonderful sunny morning and seeing so many women banding together for such a great cause was really inspiring. Through the running of several raffles they raised over $6,500. This money will be donated to the Jane McGrath Foundation and the Breast Cancer Foundation.
